Materials and Structure
Aluminium power conducting arms are an alternative to bimetal Copper-Steel arms, and are used in applications where the weight of the structure must be kept to a minimum.

The body of the arm is similar to that of bimetal arms with a "box type" construction inside which the cooling water flows. The inside of the arm also has strengtheners to compensate for the water pressure and to make the same mechanically stronger.
The special internal design also guarantees fast cooling water flow near the outer walls, where the heat is generated.
Brar has a great deal of experience in the production of aluminium profile cooled arms,where the cooling water flows inside the partition and not inside the arm. The profile is "L" or "C" section with cooling holes, and it is made of drawn aluminium. In this way the arm is cooled only where necessary, in other words in the profile carrying the electric current, with a drastic reduction in the amount of water required.
